The Batch
Fortnightly notes for food processing plants in North India
One short email, every second Tuesday, about the paperwork and planning problems that actually slow a plant down.
FSSAI documentation that survives an audit. Why material planning breaks at batch level. How to keep FSMS records without maintaining three separate registers.
Written for QA heads, plant managers and promoters running units in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi NCR. No vendor pitches, no 2,000-word SEO posts.
What each issue covers
Three problems, over and over
Every issue takes one of these apart and shows what the fix actually looks like on the floor — not in theory.
-
FSSAI documentation that survives an audit
Which Schedule 4 records an inspector opens first, what a surprise inspection exposes that a scheduled one never does, and the gaps that keep showing up in units that think their paperwork is fine.
-
Why material planning breaks at batch level
Your BOM says one yield, the batch gives another. Shelf-life-driven procurement, rework and wastage make a monthly plan useless in a plant that works batch to batch.
-
FSMS records without three registers
CCP logs, cleaning schedules and traceability maintained once — not copied into a paper register, an Excel sheet and a system that nobody trusts.

The Food Processing Growth Playbook
A working document, not a brochure — built from the implementations we run for processing units across North India.
- The complete documentation set an FSSAI audit asks for, in the order it gets asked for
- A batch-level material planning template you can fill in this week
- The record structure that replaces parallel registers with one source of truth
- What to fix before you buy software — and what software genuinely fixes
That’s what the email address is for. Nothing else.

The usual questions
How often will I hear from you?
Twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 7:30 am IST (from 10 November 2026). Batch 01 went out on 20 October and Batch 02 on 27 October. Every issue is also published on the web.
What do you do with my email address?
It goes into our newsletter list and is used to send The Batch and the playbook. We don’t sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone, and we don’t add you to any other list. We also record where you subscribed from, so we know which page sent you.
How do I stop?
Every issue has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, no confirmation screen, no questions. Replying “stop” works too.
Do I have to be a Digiwah client?
No. Most subscribers aren’t, and the issues are written that way.
Is this a sales newsletter?
No. We implement Zoho for food processing units, so the examples come from that work — but each issue has to be useful on its own, whatever software you run.
The Batch is written by the Digiwah team, who implement Zoho ERP, Zoho Books and FSMS record systems for food processing plants across North India. Questions about an issue? Reply to it — a person reads it.
